Sources have confirmed that Serhou Guirassy’s representatives are increasingly optimistic about the striker securing a move to a Premier League club during the January transfer window.

Guirassy has emerged as a standout player in the 2023/24 season, tallying an impressive 16 goals in 11 matches across all competitions for Stuttgart. In the Bundesliga, he has scored 15 goals, trailing only Harry Kane of Bayern Munich, who has netted 18 goals since his summer transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.

In October, it was reported  that Guirassy’s contract with Stuttgart includes a release clause of approximately £15.2 million. Scouts from Bournemouth, Brentford, Crystal Palace, and West Ham United had been monitoring him earlier in the season, and these clubs have been given the opportunity to sign him.

The same quartet of clubs, along with Manchester United, have been linked to Guirassy, and intermediaries have contacted United, Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, Tottenham, and Wolves about the striker’s situation. While there is apparent interest from these clubs, nothing is concrete at this stage.

A potential mid-season move could face complications due to Guirassy’s likely involvement with Guinea at the Africa Cup of Nations, beginning on January 13. The competing countries can call players into training camp two weeks before the tournament.

Despite turning 28 in March, Guirassy is experiencing a late-season resurgence following successful stints in France with Amiens and Reims before joining Stuttgart on an initial loan at the beginning of the 2022/23 campaign.
