Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane has emphasized that he is not currently contemplating his future, despite his club’s efforts to engage in contract discussions with him. With just 18 months left on his contract, reports in Germany have indicated interest from both Liverpool and his former club, Manchester City, where Sane spent four years before joining Bayern.

“I haven’t given any thought to it [my future] yet,” said Sane when questioned about the uncertainties surrounding him. “The club wants to have talks, but at the moment, I want to focus on this season. FC Bayern remains my first point of contact, there’s no doubt about that.”

Earlier this year, Sane confirmed that his wife had temporarily relocated to their former residence in Manchester while their Munich home underwent renovations. However, he emphasized that the family would soon reunite and resume living in Germany.

During his successful tenure with City, the winger secured two Premier League titles from 2016 to 2020 before making the move to Munich. Sane contributed significantly to City’s success, notching 39 goals and 46 assists in 135 appearances. Unfortunately, his time in England concluded with a severe knee injury, limiting him to just 24 minutes of play in his final season under Pep Guardiola.

Despite encountering a similar setback in his initial seasons in Germany, Sane is currently enjoying the most exceptional campaign of his career. With eight goals in 11 games this year, he has matched his best-ever Bundesliga tally and added six assists to his impressive contributions.
