Godwin Emefiele, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), will go on trial today by the Federal Government for alleged offenses linked to economic sabotage.
Emefiele will be charged in a High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. His trial was postponed approximately 24 hours ago.
According to a docket notice obtained by DAILY POST, the former CBN Governor would be accompanied by a man named Ramalan Yaro for his trial before Justice Hamza Muazu.

Emefiele will be hauled before the court this morning to enter a plea of guilty or not guilty, according to a court registrar who requested to remain anonymous.
Maxwell Opara, a member of his defense team, also attested to the fact that the former CBN Governor had received a notice of arraignment requiring him to appear in court.
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Matthew Burkaa, who made a commitment to bring the former CBN governor for trial while receiving bail from Justice Olukayode Adegbola Adeniyi of the FCT High Court, would present the former governor in court.
