Zainab Abidoye, a 22-year-old woman, recently graduated from the University of Ilorin. She stated that she turned down her suitor’s marriage proposals because he was roughly 30 years older than her. Despite this, Abidoye said that the man, known only as Alhaji, met her needs during their courtship and that things went south when he started pressuring her to get married.
The UNILORIN graduate used X (previously Twitter) to recount her encounter with the man who is now married to someone else on Thursday. She wrote, “This man that I refused to marry decided to send me a wedding video of him and his small wife today at 6 am.” Was I hurting? I won’t lie, a little bit. Did I, however, regret my choice? Oh no! The woman even has the exact same skin and figure as mine. Men are funny, she said, emoji-ing laughter.
In a recent development, the woman revealed that in addition to their different ages, the marriage proposal was turned down for toxicity-related reasons as well as a few more that she would prefer not to discuss.

“Wasn’t expecting my tweet to go viral, but since many people are curious,” the woman added.
He asked me to be his second wife, something I have sworn never to be; He was thirty years older than I was; He was poisonous (details to be withheld); It’s undeniable that he has a lot of money to support me, and he has been kind with it, but that doesn’t mean I should marry him for financial reasons. After all, what if the money disappears? I wasn’t ready for marriage, and I still am not, so.
Lastly, why marry someone I detest because, despite his best efforts, the love wasn’t there? I have a lot of faith in my abilities and think I can become a millionaire too. I declined.
