Damian Okoligwe, a 400-level student in the Department of Petroleum and Gas at the University of Port Harcourt, who was arrested on October 25 after the discovery of his 20-year-old girlfriend Justina Otuene’s decomposing body in his apartment, has denied any involvement in her death.
Damian, who was presented before the media today, October 26, stated that he found her lifeless body in his apartment and had no knowledge of who might have caused her harm or dismembered her. He admitted to not reporting the matter to the authorities after making this discovery.
On Wednesday, October 25, at approximately 3:30 pm, the Ozuoba Division police received a report from a neighbor who had noticed a foul odor coming from the compound on Road 20, behind NTA Ozuoba. Upon their arrival, the police found the decomposing body, leading to the subsequent arrest of the suspect who is presently in custody.
