In an official statement, the club declared, “Sevilla have made the decision to relieve Jose Luis Mendilibar of his duties as the club’s head coach following the results at the start of the season.” The Andalusian side currently occupies the 14th position in La Liga, following a 2-2 draw with Rayo Vallecano on Saturday. The statement also expressed appreciation for Mendilibar’s contributions, particularly his role in securing the Europa League victory in Budapest, which will be remembered in the club’s history.
