However, the club, via its TikTok account, shared a video of the missed penalty kick with a mocking voiceover. The voiceover, played at double speed, repeatedly said, “Gimme the penalty,” followed by a prolonged, sarcastic laugh.
This gesture didn’t sit well with Nigerians, who saw it as ingratitude towards their compatriot, who played a pivotal role in securing the club’s first league title last season after a 33-year drought.
