Actor Murphy Afolabi Reacts to Those Laughing at His Yoruba Accent: “I’ll Speak Like This Until I’m Old.”

Yoruba actor Murphy Afolabi is known for his heavy Yoruba accent. On social internet, there are indeed memes of the actor, with people criticizing his speech, even when it is in English.

The actor disclosed in a recent interview with the BBC that he is from Osogbo, in the state of Osun, which explains his accent. He maintains that he has accepted it and that there is nothing he can do about it.
People won’t be able to hear or understand Afolabi if he tries to speak without his accent, he believes.
