After spending more than a week in the custody of the Nigerian Navy, a member of Ahmed Gafar’s crew, known as Cute Abiola, has requested prayers for the comedian.
Cute Abiola was arrested for breaking and breaching the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s social media policy, according to a statement from the Director of Information, Navy Headquarters, Cdre Suleman Dahun.
According to the statement, troops are not permitted to upload photos of themselves or their colleagues in military dress, or images depicting military structures.

Cute Abiola is still to reclaim his freedom a week after the news made headlines across multiple media outlets, and fans and friends are concerned about the situation.
Tolibian, a Nigerian artist who is thought to be a member of Cute Abiola’s management, encouraged Cute Abiola’s fans and followers to pray for him in a post on Instagram.
