The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced its decision to invalidate the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result of Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma due to her involvement in presenting a counterfeit score.
In a statement released by the board’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, on Sunday, July 2, it was revealed that Miss Ejikeme had initially claimed a score of 362 in the examination, but her actual result was determined to be 249. Consequently, she has been accused of tampering with JAMB’s results, leading to the withdrawal of her UTME result.
It is worth noting that Miss Ejikeme had been awarded a N3 million scholarship by Innocent Chukwuma, the founder of Innoson Motors, for achieving a score of 362 in the 2023 UTME. However, with the discovery of her fraudulent actions, the scholarship grant is likely to be revoked or reconsidered.

The statement reads;
“The attention of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has been drawn to several publications in both print and online media celebrating certain candidates for being high scorers in the 2023 UTME.
The Board is constrained to set the records straight and wishes to state unequivocally that many of the results which many of these candidates are parading are fake. In many instances, some of these candidates had actually obtained far lower scores than they are claiming and had used some funny software packages to manipulate their results to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
The most pathetic of them all is the case of Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, who claimed to have scored 362 in the 2023 UTME and was awarded a N3m scholarship by Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma.
She was even set to be honoured by the Anambra State Government when one of its top officials put a call through to JAMB to confirm her claim only for the Board to reveal that Miss Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma had actually scored 249 and not 362 she claimed. She had manipulated her UTME result to deceive the public to fraudulently obtain scholarship and other recognition.
The Board would like to state that the likes of Mmesoma are still out there deceiving those who are always in a hurry to bestow honours on candidates without confirming from the Board.
In a similar incident, a case emerged in Kaduna involving Atung Gerald, who purportedly obtained a score of 380 in the UTME. His ethnic group advocated for him to be accorded special recognition. However, the Board shattered their expectations by revealing the irrefutable truth that Atung had never even applied for the 2023 UTME nor taken the examination.
In light of such occurrences, the Board strongly urges the public to verify claims made by candidates directly with the Board before hastily bestowing them with unmerited accolades. Certain software programs have been developed to fabricate counterfeit versions of candidates’ results and disseminate them publicly as a form of amusement. Sadly, sponsors of these candidates exploit such deceptive practices to defraud well-meaning Nigerians, including individuals like Dr. Innocent, the founder of Innoson Motors, who genuinely seeks to celebrate academic excellence by investing in the education of young Nigerians.
It should be highlighted that Miss Mmesoma had initially sent a message to the Board’s platform to inquire about her UTME result. However, she subsequently engaged in the manual manipulation of her scores, fabricating inflated numbers and affixing them onto the 2022 UTME result sheet. Little did she know that the Board had introduced a new design for the 2023 UTME result sheet. Despite her efforts, her genuine score remains at 249, and no alteration can change that fact. As a consequence of her dishonorable actions, Miss Mmesoma will face prosecution, and her original result will be invalidated.
Moreover, the Board intends to conduct investigations into all candidates who claim to have achieved higher scores than they genuinely attained. Once these cases are uncovered, the candidates’ original results will be promptly withdrawn, and they will be handed over to the appropriate law enforcement agencies for prosecution.”
