Christophe Galtier, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has claimed responsibility for the commotion that followed Kylian Mbappe’s selection as captain for Monday’s Coupe de France encounter against Pay de Cassel.

Mbappe assumed the captain’s role for the first time in his career because Marquinhos, the team’s usual captain, was out due to injury.

After the game, Galtier responded to a question about the circumstance by saying that Mbappe had been vice-captain from the beginning of the season.

Defender Presnel Kimpembe then posted on social media about how surprised he was by the development.

When Marquinhos was unavailable, Kimpembe led PSG twice this season, both times with Mbappe on the roster.

Galtier has now clarified that Mbappe and Kimpembe are both vice captains.

“I made a communication mistake. “Kylian’s captaincy in the Coupe de France astonished everyone,” Galtier stated at a news conference on Friday.

Kylian is one of the group’s vice captains. We have a captain and four vice captains: Sergio Ramos, Kylian, Marco Verratti, and Kimpembe.
