Barcelona Femini defeated Real Sociedad 3-0 yesterday to win the Spanish Women’s Super-Cup for the second consecutive season and extend their unbeaten run in domestic competitions to 58 games. Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala was on the scoreboard.
The victory came precisely one week after the male team’s 3-1 victory over Real Madrid in the Super Cup final at Riyard last Sunday.
In what turned out to be an easy victory at the Estadio Romano in Merida, Aitana Bonmati scored a goal in each half and Oshoala added the third.

The final domestic trophy Barca failed to capture was that one. They went on to win the Champions League, the Liga F, the Copa de la Reina, and all three Spanish competitions last season, as well as a league and cup double in 2020–21.
Real Sociedad, on the other hand, is still improving under Natalia Arroyo. In the Super Cup final in 2020, they were defeated 10-1 by Barcelona, but they have since made significant progress, placing second in the league last year.
