Tom McIntyre, a defender and Olise’s former Reading teammate, opened up to The Athletic about the winger’s celebration preference.

Because he occasionally chose not to celebrate goals, we’d describe him as being a little odd at times, Morrison said.

Mike, you just scored a crucial goal and you’re just walking back?” we would ask. What is he up to? Then, when he and the manager (Paunovic) played two-touch in the gym and he won a point, he would shout and celebrate, but on Saturdays, he would score a goal in front of the home end and just stand there.

“We never truly determined why.” He’s just different; a terrific player, but he could never offer us an answer.

Seven goals were scored by the France U-21 winger in three seasons at the Madejski Stadium, earning him an ยฃ8.37 million transfer to Palace in the summer of 2021.

McIntyre, who has spent his entire career at Reading, continued by saying that the winger enjoys being “different and cool.”

The Reading defender said that, midway through the previous campaign, “he unfollowed all of us on Instagram and only followed approximately 15 people.”

We all found it humorous that no one from Reading was on there, outside perhaps one or two of his closest friends.

I am aware of the situation; he like a number of other rappers besides Lil Uzi Vert. They unfollow everyone on Instagram, and I believe he aspires to follow their example. While it seems unusual to me and some of the guys, he finds it unique and cool.

On the night, Bruno Fernandes gave the visitors the lead with a well-placed goal in the first half before Olise responded late in the game.

Supporters were perplexed by his understated celebration, with one asking: “Olise is ill in the head, how do you not rejoice after scoring that.”

How could Olise not be happy about that goal? Another person remarked, “If that were me, I’d be diving into the mob with my top off.”

‘Great free kick by Olise but I’ve got absolutely no time for anyone scoring a worldie in injury time to equalize and looking pissed off about it,’ one person remarked. You can still celebrate it, young man.
