Armed bandits kidnapped some Youth Service Corps members and four other travelers from Benue State and held them captive in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State before releasing them.
Following the involvement of Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, Benue Links management, and the families of victims, the corps members who were abducted on their way to their respective orientation camps were freed by their abductors on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021.

The corps members who came in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital, today (Thursday, October 28, 2021) shocked their sympathizers when they revealed photos taken with them by the bandits when they were at the kidnappers’ hideout.
The heavily armed bandits were pictured posing uncovered with their victims in images obtained online by our correspondent. In the photographs, some of the victims may be seen smiling. It is unclear, however, whether the bandits coerced them to act happy.
