The suspect also revealed that the gunfight claimed the lives of his gang boss in Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State, as well as his assistant. He also claimed to have fled with three AK-47 guns and numerous cattle, planning to take up residence in the forests of Gwarzo and Karaye LGAs.

The police went on to say that he admitted to taking part in multiple kidnapping and livestock rustling incidents in the states of Kaduna, Katsina, and Zamfara with other camp members.

“We have since launched a manhunt for the fleeing gang members,” Gumel said.

Gumel did, however, reassure the state that police would do everything in their power to ensure that citizens had enough security, and he urged citizens to submit reliable information that would help apprehend the offenders who were escaping.
