Four alleged stowaways were apprehended by the Nigerian Navy ship BEECROFT from the container vessel MV TEME EXPRESS.

The base information officer, Sub Lieutenant Hapinness Collins, released a press release on Wednesday stating that the stowaways were captured on Monday, November 13, 2023, on board the vessel.

The statement said that the ship was headed for Dubai and that the stowaways were identified as follows: Michael Daniel, age 18, from Ondo state; Goodness Edu, age 28, from Akwa Ibom; and Ebi Agrive, age 22 from Bayelsa state.

According to her, the suspects were turned over to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for additional investigation in compliance with the established procedures.

On Monday, November 13, 2023, while on normal patrol, the patrol team of the Nigerian Navy Ship BEECROFT successfully withdrew and captured several persons onboard the container vessel TEME EXPRESS, which was en route to Dubai.

“Tactical teams were sent to the vessel at Lagos Anchorage, in accordance with Commodore Kolawole Olumide Oguntuga, Commander NNS BEECROFT, following information received from the Maritime Domain Awareness Facility, the Falcon Eye Alignment. As the teams arrived, they observed activity within the rudder compartment.
