Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, aims for Team Nigeria to surpass its best Olympic performance achieved at the 1996 Atlanta Games. He called on Nigerians to rally behind their athletes throughout the Games.

In a statement released by Diana-Mary Nsan, S.A. Media to the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Enoh expressed confidence in the team’s dedication and preparation, saying, ‘Our athletes have shown tremendous effort and dedication in their preparations. With the support of every Nigerian, we are confident that our team will excel and bring pride to the nation.’

Among Nigeria’s notable athletes in this contingent are Oluwatobiloba Amusan (Athletics), Ese Brume (Athletics), Blessing Oborodudu (Wrestling), Favour Ashe (Athletics), Favour Ofili (Athletics), Odunayo Adekouroye (Wrestling), Chukwuebuka Enekwechi (Athletics), and Aruna Quadri (Table Tennis).

These athletes, alongside others, are poised to showcase their talents and represent Nigeria with distinction on the global stage.”
