At the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), located in Ondo State, no fewer than 195 students have successfully completed their various programs with honors.

This was revealed on Friday at a press conference marking the university’s 33rd convocation in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, by Prof. Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, the vice chancellor of the institution.

The first-class students are among the 3,491 students who will get first degrees from the nine faculties during the next institution’s convocation, according to Oladiji.

According to the institution’s first female vice chancellor, of the total number of students, 195 have first class honors, 1,510 have upper division second class honors, 1,515 have lower division second class honors, and 254 and two are graduating with third class and pass, respectively.

With a cumulative grade point average of 4.93, Miss Oluwanifemi Favour Olajuyigbe, a student in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, is the top graduating student, the vice chancellor said.

She also said that 1,806 graduates will receive Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters, and Doctorates from the university.
