Otohu Moses, 17, was recovered by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, often known as So-Safe Corps. On Monday, the child was reportedly abducted by unidentified assailants.
Sunday Iboin, the victim’s father, reportedly reported the incident to the So-Safe Corps on Tuesday, stating that his son had been abducted when he went to the back of the house to urinate.
It was rumored that his abductors, who were thought to be neighbors, demanded N1.5 million.

This was stated in a press release sent out on Wednesday by Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, the corps’ director of information and public relations, on behalf of Commander Soji Ganzallo, the corps’ state commander.
“On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, one Sunday Iboin came to the Olorunda Post of the corps to report that his son, Otohu Moses, was kidnapped at the Olorunsogo Community, Olorunda in Abeokuta North Local Government Area at about 2215hrs on Monday, January 29, 2024 while he went out to ease himself at the back of the house,” the statement in part states.
Sunday contacted his son’s phone number multiple times when he did not see him return on time. A man answered the phone and informed Sunday in Yoruba that his son had already been abducted.
The father added that a N1.5 million ransom was demanded by the alleged kidnappers.
“The father of the victim informed us that he believed one of his neighbors was responsible for the kidnapping.”
According to the statement, the boy was saved unharmed but with cane marks on his body, while the three armed kidnappers who were spotted managed to flee. The operational team of the corps planned, launched an attack, and eventually took the war to the alleged suspected kidnappers in the forest, some kilometers away from the point of kidnapping.
The rescued victim has been sent to the Imala Divisional Police Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, pending more investigation.
