Seyi Edun, also known as ‘I am Shai’ or ‘Eja nla,’ is a rising Nollywood actress and film producer. She is most known for her roles in Yoruba films and has established herself as an actor to watch.
Seyi is from Ayetoro Egbado in Ogun State, however she was born and raised in Lagos.
Seyi began her career in the film industry in 2009, thanks to her younger sister, who works as a screenplay. She became an apprentice with Wisdom Caucus that same year and graduated in 2011, following which she concentrated only on acting.

Her sister was the one who directed the first film in which she appeared. In 2011, the film ‘Eja Nla’ was released.
Currently, Seyi is the founder of Shaiworld Entertainment, a movie production outfit. Her other productions include ‘Oko Mi’, ‘Ota mi’, ‘Case Closed’,’ Wonuola’ and ‘Asewo’.
The actress confessed that she frequently produces in large quantities to save money and make her work easier. However, with the support of social media and her marketer, she completes post-production one by one.
Seyi married Toyin Abraham’s ex-husband, Adeniyi Johnson, which caused quite a stir on social media, and it is still a point of contention among Toyin’s followers, who continue to brand Seyi a husband snatcher on social media.
There were rumors that Seyi and Niyi were having an affair, which led to Johnson and Abraham’s split. However, the actress has subsequently clarified the situation, claiming that she met Adeniyi when he was unmarried and that their friendship grew into something meaningful.

To clear the air on this issue she had this to say: “Apparently, that is untrue. People say different things from afar, but the truth is sacred. I can count how many times I set my eyes on them together with a couple or so. When I met Adeniyi, they were already separated. What is happening between Adeniyi and me is what I call destiny, whatever story that has been sold to me in that aspect I know pretty soon God will vindicate me and expose all truth. As much as I love my man, I won’t like us to discuss further on what transpired between him and his past marriage/relationships.”
She further said that they had no relationship when he was still married and things developed naturally after his divorce. “We were friends at that particular moment. As events unfolded, our friendship grew to a greater point. But now, I can categorically say that we are cool and happy together as a couple,” she said.
Concerning her fashion style, she has this to say” My fashion style is basically simple and comfortable. Once I am comfortable in it, I rock it. Public opinion of what I wear has never bothered me.”
She loves to wear bespoke outfits that are made exclusively for her. Seyi knows how rock lace and traditional ensembles like a true Yoruba lady.
