Uche Edochie’s brother, a Nigerian actor, has commented on the ongoing criticism Yul Edochie is receiving for choosing a second wife.
Actor Uche Maduagwu criticized Yul and his second wife, Judy Austin, for wishing the actor’s first wife, May, a happy birthday on Friday.
In response to Uche’s accusation that his colleague had sacrificed his 16 years of joyful marriage for five minutes of pleasure, Uche felt their remarks to be hypocritical.
Yul criticized Maduagwu for talking about marriage in response to his post even though he wasn’t married.
Uche Edochie dragged Uche Maduagwu into Yul’s comment area to defend his brother. He pondered whether it was preferable for a man to surreptitiously cheat on his sole wife as opposed to lawfully marrying multiple wives.
Uche believes his brother should not remain condemned forever.
He added that his brother does not need anyone’s permission to take another wife.
Part of Uche’s comment reads;
“You fell in love with two women and married them both. In our culture that is respectable. You don’t need anyone’s approval.
You married a second wife. You did not steal, kill or do voodoo for success. This needs to be said. Polygamy is a legitimate form of marriage.”
