Nollywood actor and movie producer, Ibrahim Chatta, has recently addressed the issue of being overlooked at the 9th edition of the AMVCA (Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards).

During an interview with a radio station in Ibadan, Ibrahim Chatta expressed his disappointment at not receiving an invitation to the prestigious award ceremony. He acknowledged that there are many talented actors who deserve recognition more than he does, and he is not bothered by the lack of acknowledgment.

However, his main concern lies in the fact that he is excluded from the ceremony while his junior colleagues are invited. Ibrahim Chatta questioned why he doesn’t receive invitations, but younger actors do.

Nonetheless, Ibrahim Chatta stated that he does not allow this issue to consume him, as his primary focus is on achieving an Oscar. He admitted that he used to believe his work was not up to par, but seeing his younger colleagues being invited to events like the AMVCA made him question why he was not included. However, he does not want any award, including the AMVCA, to limit his ambitions, as his ultimate goal is to aim for an Oscar. He emphasized that if he were to dwell on not being nominated for the AMVCA, it could potentially distract him from his larger aspirations.
