Gabriel Martinelli’s contract extension talks with Arsenal are apparently underway and would include better terms.

The Brazilian provided the first goal in Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Liverpool for Arsenal.

Martinelli is Mikel Arteta’s team’s second-leading scorer with four goals and two assists, trailing only Jesus, but his statistics belie the mesmerizing impact he is having this year.

The winger’s current agreement, which runs through June 2024 with an option for another year, is up in June, and the Gunners are eager to agree to a new one with him as a result of Martinelli’s remarkable performances.
