At the Education City Stadium on Tuesday night, Morocco shocked Spain with a 3-0 penalty shootout victory to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

With the win, the African team advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup for the first time ever.

Recall that Morocco made history yesterday by becoming the first African nation to reach the World Cup’s round of eight since 2010.

Morocco defeated Spain 3-0 on post-match penalties to advance to the World Cup quarterfinals, becoming the first African nation to do so since Ghana in 2010. It is also the first North African nation and fourth African nation overall to do so.
