Olatunji also serves as the President of the Nigerian Guild of Film Directors (TAMPAN).

On Monday, the actor went live on Instagram to reveal the identities of the officers who reportedly assaulted him and his PA by taking their phones.

According to the actor, the event occurred in Lagos State’s Abule-Egba neighborhood.

Olatunji claimed that the cops snatched his phone and slapped his P.A. as he was recording them.

He also accused the cops of extorting “hard-earned money” from citizens.

The actor went on to say that while there are decent police officers in Nigeria, the ones he encountered were awful.

SaharaReporters learned that Olatunji and Salawu were arrested and imprisoned at Area P Police Command shortly after the video went viral, where they spent the night.

Last night, they were both imprisoned in Ipaja’s Area P. The ludicrous charge was that they recorded and documented police behavior, which amounted to inciting the people against the police, with #EndSARS beginning in the same way.

“They claimed that the Commissioner of Police ordered him to be detained since last night, and that he was placed in a cell in a dehumanizing state.”

“His wife and other family members, as well as many of his movie industry colleagues, including a lawyer who came to join him yesterday,” a source told SaharaReporters, “have all been waiting at the gate of the police station since morning without having access to him.”
