The Ondo State Executive Council has come under fire from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the action it took on Thursday, when a vote of confidence was voted for the governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

The main opposition party stated the executives had made fun of the state while calling the 33 cabinet members’ action absurd and foolish.

Kennedy Peretei, the Publicity Secretary for PDP, stated in a statement that the cabinet members ought to be more cognizant of their duties, especially in light of the state’s impending implosion as a result of the governor’s absence.

As stated by Peretei, “Attuned observers of Ondo State politics would have been perplexed as to how the state wound itself in this unfortunate situation.

“Where the state’s ship is just drifting aimlessly on the high seas, without a captain or direction, and soon to collide with a perilous cliff.”

Claiming that the supposed communiqué was “senseless” and “of no effect,” two State Commissioners mocked it, seemingly destroying what little remained of the Akeredolu administration.

In Ondo State, things have never been this awful. Who cast a ballot in favor of Babajide or Betty, his mother, who have both had absolute control over the state?

“It is obvious that this government’s days are numbered now that the State Executive Committee has chosen to come and dance in the marketplace naked.”

The PDP’s stance on the issue has been deemed false by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“It is disheartening to witness the PDP consistently disparage the achievements of Governor Akeredolu and his government, with their attacks being hopelessly wide of the mark,” the APC stated in a statement released by its Director of Media Publicity, Steve Otaloro.

“This is just another instance of the PDP’s unfounded criticism directed towards the State Executive Council’s resolution concerning Governor Akeredolu’s administration.

The governor was praised in the resolution for his unwavering dedication to ethics, excellent governance, and model leadership, all of which have encouraged and motivated the council members to carry out their responsibilities to the state.
