Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia secured a 2-0 victory over Kano Pillars in a Week 4 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) match on Sunday.

Sunday Megwo opened the scoring for the hosts in the 15th minute, sending the home fans into celebration. Abia Warriors continued to apply pressure, but Kano Pillars’ goalkeeper Idreesu Ibrahim made a crucial save in the 20th minute.

The home side doubled their lead in the 37th minute, making it 2-0 before halftime under the leadership of coach Imama Amakapabo.

The win moves Abia Warriors to 5 points from 4 matches. They had previously lost 0-2 to Remo Stars, and played to draws against Akwa United (1-1) and Sunshine Stars (0-0).
