Femi Ogunrombi, better known by his stage name Papa Ajasco, was a well-known actor in Nigeria. On Sunday, January 15, 2023, a theatre professional named Husseini Shaibu confirmed and announced the news of his passing on his official Twitter account.

“I have just been credibly told that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with #NATIONALTROUPE and one time stand-in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular comedic series ‘Papa Ajasco,’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead,” Husseini Shaibu wrote in a post announcing the actor’s passing.

Although the actor’s cause of death was not made public, the news of his passing sparked comments on social media as many people recalled how the actor had a profound impact and left them with priceless memories when they were young.
