West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has returned home after being discharged from the hospital following surgery on a broken leg sustained in a car crash.

The 34-year-old was involved in the accident near Theydon Bois, Essex, on December 8 and was airlifted to a London hospital, where he underwent surgery for a severe fracture. Antonio is expected to be sidelined for at least a year as he focuses on his recovery.

With his contract set to expire this summer, West Ham is reportedly considering an extension given the circumstances surrounding his injury.
