Salah then scored in his sixth straight Premier League opening-day match.

Prior to then, he scored against Watford (2017), West Ham (2018), Norwich (2019), Leeds (2020), and Norwich once more in 2021.

He is the only player in the history of the Premier League to have five or six consecutive matchday one goals.

In those six games, Salah scored eight goals.

Only three other players—Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney, and Frank Lampard—scored eight goals on matchday one.

After the first game, Salah has one goal and one assist in the Premier League.

Even though their goals came in more than double the number of appearances as Salah did, Liverpool is presently eighth in the Premier League with one point following matchday one.
