Liverpool Football Club announced on Wednesday night that it had reached an agreement to sign Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven, subject to obtaining a work visa.

“After coming to a personal agreement and clearing his medical tests at the AXA Training Center, the 23-year-old forward will officially sign with the Reds at the start of the January transfer window.

Gakpo joins the group following an impressive World Cup campaign with the Netherlands, where he scored three goals in five games and collaborated with Virgil van Dijk to help his country advance to the quarterfinals.”

Due to the injuries to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, who are anticipated to be sidelined for several months, Jurgen Klopp made a move to expand his offensive options. The move of Gakpo to the Reds has finally been completed after PSV announced on Boxing Day that an agreement had been struck.

Cody Gakpo will don the No 18 shirt for the Reds for the 22/23 campaign.
