But even so, he appeared to be facing backlash from supporters as he attended the Ballon d’Or event. The winner was his France teammate Karim Benzema, but Mbappe was greeted with deafening jeers.

Mbappe’s crew could be seen escorting him into the Theatre du Chatalet. Whistles and jeers were audible, but Mbappe stopped to give a young supporter a fist-bump.

The France international maintained his composure amid the criticism. He grinned as he entered the space with assurance.

Mbappe, who finished sixth in the Ballon d’Or voting, rejected Real Madrid toward the end of the previous season in order to accept a record-breaking £1 million per week contract with PSG. Prior to this season, it was widely anticipated that he would sign a free transfer to play for a La Liga team, but he ultimately chose to stay in France.

According to reports from last week, the former Monaco prodigy had grown upset with the PSG management because of what he saw as their mistreatment of him. Madrid departure in January has been proposed.

After PSG’s weekend 1-0 victory over Marseille, Mbappe strongly refuted the allegations. He is adamant that he hasn’t requested to depart before the January transfer window opens.

“I never requested to leave in January. I was unable to interpret the information that was released the day before the Champions League match against Benfica. Mbappe told reporters, “Neither directly nor indirectly, am I involved in this information.

“Like everyone else, I was equally surprised by this news. Although some people might believe I’m involved, I’m not. My company was at my little brother’s game when I was napping.

“When we learned, we were astounded. We had to deal with it later because we had a game to play. I just wanted to clarify that it’s absolutely untrue and that I’m content right here.

In his ten Ligue 1 games this year, Mbappe has eight goals. At the top of the division, PSG sits three points ahead of Lorient.
