Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State, has stated that he is not an emperor by any stretch of the imagination, less than 24 hours after Bola Tinubu, a presidential aspirant and national head of the All Progressives Congress, made a remark.

Tinubu stated Abiodun would not have been governor without him when speaking to APC delegates in Ogun State on Thursday (Tinubu).

Abiodun stated the next day in a tweet on his verified Twitter page, @dabiodunMFR, that he was not an emperor and that his position as governor of Ogun State was not a familial legacy.

“I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance.

“I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state,” Dapo declared. “I have pledged to be fair, just, and equitable, and this is the solemn deal I made with the Almighty God.”
