“I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with #NATIONALTROUPE and one time stand in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular #waleadenugaprod comic series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead,” he tweeted.

This led to a confusion that Richard Abiodun Ayoyinka, who played the role of “Papa Ajasco” in the family comedy Papa Ajasco and Company, had passed away.

This is untrue since Femi Ogunrombi, not “Papa Ajasco,” passed away.

When the original character, Abiodun Ayoyinka, backed out of the show, Femi Ogunrombi stepped in to play Papa Ajasco.

To clarify this mix-up, Abiodun Ayoyinka, who is the more popular ‘Papa Ajasco’, has made a video to notify Nigerians that he is not the one who passed away, and he is still very much alive. In a video posted by Goldmyne, Abiodun Ayoyinka said

“My name is Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco. I am not dead, I am still alive. And thank you all my fans for your concern. I really appreciate you people”.
