Martinez, the goalkeeper for Aston Villa, has come under fire for making fun of Kylian Mbappe, the Golden Boot winner, after last Sunday’s World Cup Final in Qatar.

The players from Argentina celebrated their triumph in the locker rooms, and Nicolas Otamendi tweeted a video of them all doing the conga on Instagram.

The squad paused mid-dance routine to observe “a minute of silence for,” allowing Martinez to exclaim, “For Mbappe who is dead!”

This was intolerable, and Le Graet pushed the Argentina FA to do something about it.

Le Graet told Ouest-France, “I wrote to my colleague from the Argentine Federation, I find these excesses odd, in the context of a sporting tournament, and I find it difficult to explain.”

During Argentina’s World Cup triumph parade, Martinez attracted attention when he was seen holding a baby doll with a picture of Mbappe’s face put on it.

While some Twitter users called the gesture offensive, “Disgraceful,” one emphasized: “You ought to be aware of what transpired in 2018 following France’s victory over Argentina. Players for France literally sang Kante a song about how he stole Messi.”

It follows the football player’s explanation of his impolite motion with the Golden Glove award.

He held the award, which was styled like a goalie glove, up to his crotch as he entered the stage after being named the best goalkeeper in the competition in Qatar.

Martinez gave a detailed justification for his actions in a post-incident interview with the Argentine radio station La Red.

“I did it because the French booed me,” Martinez claimed. I am unable of working with arrogance.
