A few players have missed training as a result of the news, which came after United’s 2-0 Europa League victory over Moldovan outfit FC Sheriff on Thursday. Erik ten Hag’s group will travel to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on October 2 following the international break. The players have been allowed to join their respective countries notwithstanding the issue.

According to The Sun, the club is trying to figure out whether certain United players who were ill on Friday did so in Moldova or on the aircraft back to Manchester. United’s victory in Moldova allowed them to move up to second place in Group E after losing to Real Sociedad in their opening game. Jadon Sancho scored one goal in the victory, and Cristiano Ronaldo added his first-ever goal in the Europa League.

Ronaldo needed that goal, Ten Hag said following the game. ‘ He was close numerous times [so far this season], but he desperately desired that. The team wants to score for him because we are so happy for him. You already know that Cristiano will score a penalty.

He is fairly close; if he improves his fitness, he will perform better. He is entirely committed to this endeavor, actively participating, and developing relationships with those around him, therefore I’m happy with it. Sancho has been on fire recently, scoring three goals in his last six matches, but United legend Paul Scholes believes that Ten Hag should remain using the 22-year-old as a traditional winger rather than allowing him move inside.
