Feminism is tox!c. I don’t want to be part of that – Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola

Bimbo Akintola, a veteran Nollywood actress, has identified herself as a humanist rather than a feminist.

The 51-year-old actress said feminism is a harmful concept in an exclusive interview with PremiumTimes on a movie set in Lagos.

“My love for girls and women does not make me a feminist; it makes me a humanist,” she explained.

“I don’t like this feminist ideology since I believe it focuses on an extreme wing of feminism.” It’s poisonous. That is not something I want to be a part of. If you claim to be a humanist, I want us to know that you care about people.

“That means every individual: boy, girl, woman, man; everybody. My niche is the women and the girl child because there is so much to do concerning this issue in Nigeria.” she added.
