During his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag stated: “I haven’t regretted being here for a single moment. This is an immense club. You don’t fully grasp the challenges until you’re in the thick of it. However, I wanted this challenge and have never once regretted that choice. I am genuinely pleased to be here.
“In the first year, I would say we performed well. We played up to our potential, perhaps even exceeded it. In this season, we haven’t performed to the same level, and I understand why. Nevertheless, we’ve secured a place in the FA Cup final, which is a significant accomplishment.”
Despite the possibility of United concluding the season with their lowest-ever Premier League points tally, they remain in contention for a second piece of silverware under Ten Hag, having reached the FA Cup final. The upcoming fixture, scheduled for May 25th at Wembley Stadium, will see Ten Hag’s squad face Manchester City, a rematch of last season’s final where they fell short, losing 2-1 to their local rivals.
