According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag would prefer to recruit Victor Osimhen of Napoli over Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

During the upcoming transfer window, the Red Devils are likely to pursue a star center-forward, and it appears Ten Hag has already made his suggestion to the club’s hierarchy.

Kane has been linked to a transfer to Old Trafford for a number of seasons, but Law claims that the England international does not meet the manager’s ideal striker profile.

The best forward to sign for Ten Hag would be Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

This season, Osimhen has been in outstanding shape for Napoli. In just 18 games across all competitions, the Nigerian sensation has 13 goals and four assists.

The club’s effort to win its first Serie A championship in 32 years has benefited greatly from the striker. Napoli is not likely to consider any offers for him during the current transfer window.

Therefore, United will have to hold off on signing him until the summer. Osimhen possesses every skill necessary for success in the Premier League. He possesses good speed, dribbling ability, and aerial presence in the box.

He would be a much better addition than Kane, who will be 30 by the summer and may begin to slow down in the future years, as he is still in the prime of his playing career at the age of 24.

This season, Kane has averaged 120 minutes per goal contribution, while Osimhen has performed far better, scoring or providing an assist every 79 minutes despite missing a month due to injury.

This summer, the Nigerian will command a premium price of almost £131 million, but it will be money well spent. United requires a striker who can contribute to their success over the coming ten years.
