The Premier League match at Anfield on Sunday was plagued by violence and unruly behavior, and the FA will look into complaints from both Liverpool and Manchester City. Coins were hurled at City manager Pep Guardiola by home fans behind the dugout, and their team coach was targeted once more as it departed Anfield.

City will file a “wide-ranging” complaint with the FA over their Premier League opponents.

Liverpool responded by asserting that the incident was also referenced during the game and that offensive graffiti about it was discovered in the restrooms of the Anfield Road away section.

Relationships between the two sides have never been worse, and Sunday’s narrow victory was set up by what City believes was Jurgen Klopp’s incendiary pre-match press conference.

The manager of Liverpool argued that nobody could match the riches available to the club supported by Abu-Dhabi, least of all his own.

When Klopp was dismissed for forcefully accosting the assistant referee, it added to the tense environment in the dugouts.

The “completely reprehensible behavior” surrounding the coin toss will be investigated using CCTV, according to a statement from Liverpool, and anyone found guilty would receive a lifelong ban from Anfield.

However, Liverpool supporters’ unruly behavior outside the stadium has become a problem for the team and the authorities.

Prior to a league match in 2014 and a Champions League quarterfinal first leg in April 2018, City’s team bus was both times targeted.

At the same stage of the competition in 2021, Real Madrid, the reigning Spanish champion, received identical treatment before to their second leg match.

For their part, Hillsborough was once more the target of damage and chanting, which infuriated Liverpool.

A representative for Liverpool expressed their disappointment at the offensive shouts that were heard during today’s game at Anfield from the opposing fans.

“Similar graffiti was also vandalized on the concourse in the away section.

“We are aware of the negative effects that such behavior has on the families, survivors, and everyone else involved in such disasters.

We are collaborating with the appropriate authorities to do all in our power to guarantee that these slogans are completely eliminated from football.
