Erik ten Hag has been talking about Bruno Fernandes before the game.

Although the Portuguese continues to play a regular role in Man United’s midfield, his goal-scoring output has decreased over the past 12 months.

In 13 games this season, Fernandes has only one goal and two assists.

Currently, Ten Hag claims Fernandes can contribute more goals and assists:

“Yeah, but I believe Bruno is performing pretty well this year, so I can see how he can contribute more goals and assists. But I believe he frequently crosses the goal line,” he stated.

“He’s playing a huge part for us in a lot of football moments: constructing attacks, creativity, movement, but also in transitions, on both sides, and in the defensive changes, where he’s magnificent and doing a great job, so I’m really satisfied with his performances,” said the coach.

Fernandes’ actions as United’s captain were also mentioned by Ten Hag, who said, “I think he’s truly an example.”

He does a great job of transferring our style of play to others, inspiring those around him, and setting an excellent example. I’m pleased with his performance as a result.

“I know his goals and assists will come, and there will be even more,” you said.
