On Saturday, Graham Potter’s team will play Liverpool at Anfield. Both teams have had disappointing seasons.

Potter is hoping that his club will receive the much-needed lift from star acquisition Mudryk. After participating in his first practice at the club’s facility at Cobham on Wednesday, the attacker will likely play against the Reds.

Mudryk participated in the drills conducted by Potter’s coaching staff while donning a cap, gloves, training top, shorts, and long sleeve training shirt. Reece James and Ben Chilwell, who are both accelerating their comebacks from injuries, participated in the session with the Ukrainian.

Potter now has a free week to work with his entire team for the first time since September.

Since the beginning of October, the Blues have played every midweek game due to postponements caused by the death of Queen Elizabeth II, with Potter eager to make use of his extra time.

We will make the best use of our time because it is valuable to us. Given the compressed schedule leading up to a World Cup, we entered the “washing machine” in terms of games, he told Chelsea’s club media.

“As time went on, crucial personnel continued leaving, and we struggled to maintain stability and the assurance that stability offers. Even though it’s unpleasant, you can still learn a lot from it.

“I get that people work to really tight deadlines these days, but in the end, we’ll just keep working and trying to get better.”

Along with David Fofana, Joao Felix, Benoit Badiashile, and Andrey Santos, Mudryk is one of five players that Chelsea has already signed this month. Potter is hesitant to enlarge a roster that already appears to be overstuffed, though.

“We must exercise caution. For us, it’s a challenge. A balanced team with the correct level of competition is what you need. Ten or eleven of our players are unavailable “Chelsea’s manager added.

“It is evident that you cannot simply buy players to replace those, as you will then have a roster of 30, which is an issue. You must act morally and consider what the best options are.

“Because the January window is intricate, occasionally they are not quite aligned as you would like them to be. There is a time of transition, therefore you need to stabilize things and do your best to help the club.
