Cody Gakpo, Liverpool’s newest acquisition, revealed that, prior to signing with the Reds, he was considering joining Manchester United and Leeds United of the Premier League.


Gakpo recently moved from PSG Eindhoven to Liverpool in a deal estimated to be worth £35 million.

The Netherlands international said, “It was difficult this summer,” in a statement to the Mirror. It was a really stressful time.

“I first believed that I would be joining Manchester United, but things did not work out. Then Leeds United entered.

“They’re a terrific club, but I questioned whether I should go there actually, and when you have plenty of doubts, it’s not good,” I said.

Recall that before three nights remain before the January transfer window opens. Clubs have been taking action to outbid other clubs, to outright get their transfer targets into the team, or to get early agreement with their transfer targets.

Many players gained prominence during the World Cup, and there has been continuous conjecture over some of the athletes who made their mark on the international stage in Qatar during the Olympics.

Cody Gakpo, a winger for PSV, made an impression in Qatar even though English clubs were already keeping an eye on him. Following their match against Aston Villa, Liverpool initially broke the news that Gakpo had joined them from PSV Eindhoven.
