Romelu Lukaku returned to Inter Milan on loan, and Timo Werner left the club permanently to return to RB Leipzig, marking the club’s only recent departures.

However, as Thomas Tuchel’s side looks to raise money from their summer business, this may soon alter.

Cucurella’s recent entry will put him in competition with Ben Chilwell for the starting position at left wing-back, increasing concerns over Emerson’s future.

As a result, West Ham has expressed interest in the defender, and prior reports indicate that negotiations for a prospective transfer have already begun.

The 28-year-old spent the previous season on loan at Lyon, therefore the west London team would prefer a long-term move than another temporary one.

But according to the Guardian, Chelsea turned down the Hammers’ initial offer of £13 million for the Italian international.

Emerson, who has played a total of 71 times for the club, is thought to be worth at least £15 million to the Blues.

In a recent interview, Tuchel discussed the club’s prospective summer spending, saying: “In general, nobody is for sale.

“Everyone and nothing is up for grabs. Depending on what the player wants, how much they want it, and what we think about those who are willing to pay a particular sum of money, everyone may then be up for sale.

This summer, a number of players have been mentioned in connection with departures from Chelsea, however no concrete agreements have yet been made.

Four of Newcastle United’s players have requested that the Blues be informed of their situations.

One of them is Armando Broja, who along with Callum Hudson-Odoi has been mentioned in connection with a possible loan move away from Stamford Bridge this season.

The Magpies are rumored to be interested in both Christian Pulisic, who is currently in his fourth season at Chelsea, and Conor Gallagher.

West London is experiencing a summer of upheaval as the club’s new ownership adjusts to life in the Premier League.

The transfer window will expire in little over two weeks, but it seems like Chelsea will continue to pursue players after that point.
