Bella Shmurda Controversy

One Word Global Records Limited, Bella Shurda’s first record company, filed a lawsuit against him for contract violation and copyright infringement in 2021.

The record company claimed to have a contract with the performer that ends in 2022.

According to reports, Bella has an active contract with One Word Global Records Limited that will expire in 2022.

The record company claims that the singer broke the terms of the contract by, among other things, releasing, publishing, distributing, and promoting songs and music videos without the label’s consent or knowledge.

Even though his contract with One Word Global Records Limited is still in force, the singer has gone so far as to claim that he has joined Dangbana Republik, a different record label. The singer is accused of working with other musicians without getting consent from the record company.

The record company further charged Bella with failing to pay royalties owed from the use of music that were made available by the label.

After that, the label demands N200 million in compensation for the contract violation.

Bella is said to have been expelled from Ghana in 2021 for assaulting a physician who had just revealed the results of his COVID-19 test.

While in quarantine, the artist and two other of his coworkers allegedly attacked the doctor with forks.

Bella and his associates were each fined GH2,000 and given a three-month travel ban from Ghana.

In a related development in 2021, Bella Shmurda allegedly drank alcohol while taking the stage for a performance.

In the video, the performer can be seen stumbling on stage, which prompted protests from his fans who claimed he was intoxicated.

Bella published a message on Instagram disputing the claim. “Take incorrect information seriously. Check your news before you release it,” he advised.
