Former Vice-President and presidential aspirant, Abubakar Atiku has not only deleted a message on his Twitter handle condemning the killing of the Sokoto College of Education student, Deborah Samuel for insulting Prophet Mohammad.
Ms. Deborah was attacked by the angry mob for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammed in the early hours of Thursday.
In now-deleted tweet Atiku wrote:

“There cannot be a justification for such gruesome murder. Deborah Yakubu was murdered and all those behind her death must be brought to justice. My condolences to her family and friends.”
But some northern Muslims had reacted to the tweet by threatening not to vote for Atiku in the 2023 general elections.
As a result, Atiku Abubakar deleted the tweet.
After the tweet was deleted, the Atiku Abubakar then went to his verified Hausa Facebook page to distance himself from the tweet.
Atiku wrote in the Hausa language:
“This evening I received information that a post was made that doesn’t agree with my orders. I use this to announce that any post without A. A. is not from me. May God protects us,”
