It was emotional, Antony remarked. “Considering the history of the team and the mood among United supporters, I got chills when I stepped out there [against Arsenal]. I’m overjoyed to be a part of it now and share in the awesomeness, goosebumps, and atmosphere with everyone.

“It was incredibly special to score in my debut game and feel the energy behind me. I could feel them around, encouraging us. It was a wonderful experience for me, and I appreciate all the support from the United supporters.

When Erik ten Hag’s team plays Newcastle United this afternoon, Antony and his teammates will be put to the test. The Magpies are presently sixth in the table, one point behind the Reds, and have only suffered one loss in the Premier League this year. However, Antony naturally wants to put everything into this challenge to maintain his excellent form.

The Brazilian remarked, “As I’ve mentioned, I like to express my feelings, I’m a fighter, and I give my all for the club.

“I’m grateful for the chance and honor to wear this shirt. Since United is a huge club, I wish to help them achieve great things and put them where they belong.
