Rwanda head coach Torsten Spittler has supported the decision of the Moroccan referee to disallow Ademola Lookman’s goal for the Super Eagles during Tuesday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Kigali.

The match between Rwanda and Nigeria ended in a 0-0 draw at the Amahoro Stadium. Lookman’s 22nd-minute header was ruled out by the referee, and Spittler explained that it was due to an infringement in the buildup to the goal.

“There was a foul leading up to the goal. Semi Ajayi, heading towards the second post, pushed our player,” Spittler said. “The referee was in a good position to make the call.”
