Deborah Samuel, a female student at Sokoto’s Shehu Shagari College of Education, was killed, according to actor Femi Branch.
Ms Samuel, a 200-level student in the college’s Department of Early Childhood Education, was swarmed when a voice note she placed on her class WhatsApp group was accused of blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad.
Femi Branch, reacting to the unfortunate loss, called the act unlawful and said it should be addressed as such.

The actor went on to say that individuals who don’t grasp the actual meaning of Islam should check out his colleague Ibrahim Chatta’s Instagram post for more information. He said:
“Do we have a Government at all! Is anyone or any religion above the Nigerian Constitution?! The killing of this lady Deborah in Sokoto is criminal and should be treated as such! This Country is not ruled by Sharia Law and so this kind of backward and barbarism should not be condoned or encouraged!

Meanwhile, the police said they have arrested two people in connection with the incident. More arrests are expected as the school remains shut.
