On Tuesday, the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was reportedly attacked by gunmen wearing military uniforms.

Before the Sagamu Interchange on their way to Lagos, the alleged kidnappers attacked the road from the woods and began firing at drivers of the 18-passenger interstate bus.

In response to this, Sunday Ighoho, who has long lamented the killings and high degree of insecurity in the nation, asserts that only through unity can the Yoruba people achieve their full potential as a people.

In his word, he wrote:

I’ve not had a proper sleep since I heard the news of what happened on Lagos- Ibadan expressway.

It’s not like I’ve not heard about the occurrences that happened at the same place in the past but this time around,I fear for my people.

This is one of the reasons we want Yoruba Nation, so our people can be protected and not exploited.

Only if we can be in unity,I strongly believe in Yoruba nation.
I do not want my people to be a pawn used in the political games.
God help Yoruba Nation🙏
